Peacefully, with her husband by her side, Maria Pia Iacobelli passed away at the age of 50 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of Jeff Hettinga. Cherished daughter of Martha and Palmino Iacobelli. Dear sister of Paul, Silio (Stacy) and Teresa (Chad) Iacobelli. Adored aunt of Olivia and Gabriella Iacobelli, Hazel Furrow and Jessica and Melissa Hettinga. Maria loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a connoisseur of food and music and made friends wherever she went. She lit up the room with her humour and wit and made the world a better place. She will be dearly missed by her many friends and family. Special thanks to Maria’s aunt, Dr. Patricia Larusso, for always being only a phone call away to give her comfort and honest answers during her treatments. I am so very sad to hear of Maria's passing. I have great memories of working with her as a teenager - she was so much fun and made me laugh long, boring shifts away - I've never forgotten her. Sending my condolences.

I had the pleasure of working with Maria on several occasions . Her sharp wit, creativity and boundless energy was amazing - everyone who met her could not mistake the phenomenal spirit that radiated from her heart. Fond memories of Jeff and Maria visiting us when we lived in Belgium.
Maria made me laugh until I cried - I love that!
My heart goes out to Jeff and her family.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maria in high school. What a fire cracker she was! Gratefully, we kept up over the years . I alway enjoyed hearing about & applauded her lust for life and adventures. I was so sad today to hear at mass about her passing. God called her home for a greater purpose. We were blessed to have had the gift of knowing her in our lifetime. My Condolences to her family. Rest in Peace , Maria.

Maria was a unique and special lady. There's just a little less laughter without her in the world. I'll never forget the startup concept of the floating underpants. Rest In Peace.
