    To John Ashley Gardiner.
I have seen the Obituary for your Mother. She reached an amazing age, but was well cared for in the Nursing Home. I remember her when I came to stay with your family in Luton. Your Mother had invited me as I am the same age as Marilyn, born in 1941. Barbara Drury used to write to your Mother for years.
Your father, Peter Colston Gardiner and my Father Brian Hurlston Gardiner were first cousins and the families knew each other in Gloucester. We have not been in touch since 2000 when I organised a Gardiner Family Reunion. Mary would have liked you all to come, especially Shannon and Heather to meet their English relations, but unfortunately she was too ill.
I have done a huge amount of family research, so if you or your daughters are interested, please contact me and I will be pleased to share information and photos. In particular i know a lot about your Grandfather, Ashley James Gardiner who was killed in World War 1.d
You will miss your Mother, but can look back on a long and interesting life.
