Death Notice

Suddenly at her home on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, Laurie Murch passed away at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Bruce Murch. Loving mother of Carolyn Sutherland, Dean (Joanne) Murray, and Tracy Murch. Cherished Nana of Shawna (Philip) Freeman, Sarah (Andrew) Murray, Shaun (Sherri) Murray, Rebecca (Kody) Besta, Lisa (Eric) Murray, and Laney (Austin) Kennedy. Great-Nana of Talys, Sevrin, Kaden, Tegan, Lark, Cameron, and Parker. Dear aunt of Paul (Nora) Cox. Remembered by her close friends Linda and Jack Carter, Doris and Chuck Miller, and Wilson (the late Ruth) Thompson. Laurie will be missed by her extended family in Windsor and London. Predeceased by her late husband Jim Murray and son Darren Murray. Reunited with her sisters Pat and Gwen. She was an avid gardener, reader and knitter. Laurie will be remembered for having a big heart and making everyone feel like part of her family. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation being held one hour prior. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).

Service

A celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., with a visitation being held one hour prior.

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).

    So sorry to read the news of Laurie passing. I met up with Laurie and Bruce at their home to do some Laird family genealogy and we spent the afternoon comparing notes and sharing stories. We were to do a follow up visit, but never got it done. Please accept our condolences at this sad time. Darrell & family.

    Phi and I are sorry for your loss of Laurie. I am so happy that we got to meet her. When we came to SArnia , she made us so welcome. We had a wonderful visit there and when they came to Chilliwack.

    I was saddened to hear about the sudden loss of your mom Dean.
    It took me back to the days we would go to your house for lunch when we were in school. Very fond memories of your mom, she was a sweet lady.
    Unfortunatley I can't attend the service but you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

    My heart aches for your loss Bruce,Carolyn,Dean,Tracey and all of the family. Laurie loved you all so much and talked to me all the time about all of her wonderful family. She truely was an amazing lady and I loved her dearly.

    Dearest Carolyn and family my heart breaks for you ,I know it took along time to finally meet her but in the few years you had to share with your mom must have been the best years of your life! I know you loved her and she loved you , so keep the memories in your heart and she will always be there
