Death Notice

January 18, 1927 – September 10, 2017

Mary has made her final journey to a better place at the age of 90. Mom was lovingly surrounded the past 6 months by daughter Elly Allsupp (Brian), son Antoine van Crey (Judy), and daughter Mary-Jo van Crey (Bruce Praill). Mom will now join our predeceased dad, Adrian, who passed 4 years ago this month. Mom’s common theme throughout her life was her ability to love almost anyone, especially children. Coming from a family of 17 in Holland, she learned at a very early age to playfully care for her younger siblings. This translated to her becoming a loving and dedicated mother, grandma, and great grandma. Loved by all, she will be sadly missed with her constant smile and undying optimism. She had a caring nature for all who crossed her path. Leaving her mark on Cathcart School as being a volunteer Grandma Reader for 8 years, she had a special way of boosting their self esteem while sneaking them a candy at the end all awhile helping with their reading skills. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Sasha (Ken), Jordan, Stacey (Michael), Kelly (Darren), Becky (Kris), Wes (Paulena), and Spencer (Christopher). 12 great grandchildren, Jayda, Nova, Harmony, Keegan, Rachel, Audrey, Cohen, Tessa, Gavin, William, Rayn, and Stormy. After many trials and tribulations, such as a war, immigration, language barrier and much more, her survival skills helped her reach the age of 90. Mom you will be remembered by all that you hugged, kissed, and left with positive, uplifting messages. We all “love you more”, Mom. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, compassionate, and caring nurses of Palliative Care, 5th floor. “Truly Angels”. Cremation and a private ceremony will take place. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).

“Till we meet again” Love, your family.

for the loss of your dear mother. We have many fond memories of living
