On Sunday, September 10, 2017, with his family by his side, Dale Steeves of Sarnia passed away peacefully at the age of 77 after a long and courageous fight. Dale was born December 11, 1939 and raised in Albert County, New Brunswick. He was the second youngest of 6 children in the hard working farming family of Frank and Annie (Kennie) Steeves. Dale will always be remembered for his strength of character and endless devotion to his family. Dale has been reunited with his loving wife, Cecilia (2002), and he is the beloved and respected father of Brent (Jennifer) Steeves and Scott (Krista) Steeves; and proud and adoring grandfather of Curtis, Courtney, Ryan, Tyler and Hanna. He will be greatly missed by his siblings Irene (Don), Molly (Murray, 2017), Joan (Carl) and Marion (Huck, 2009); and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Don (2011) (and Millie, 2013). Following his work on the family farm and home construction in Port Credit, Dale’s career included District Manager responsibilities in banking and finance in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He then moved his young family to Sarnia to work alongside his brother at Steeves and Rozema, before returning to the bank industry. Dale spent many years as General Manager with Moore Credit Union, helping it transform into Southwest Regional Credit Union prior to retiring in 2002. Dale’s interests included playing, coaching, and serving on the executive of numerous minor hockey and baseball associations. His passions included dogs (most recently his pug - Toby), cars, and being a fan and outspoken supporter for his sons, grandsons and granddaughters activities. Dale's family is grateful for the care and support they received from Dr. Dostaler, Dr. Spano, Dr. Winquist and all the wonderful nurses and staff at Bluewater Health. Special thanks to Jackie Pilgrim for her kindness, devotion and unwavering support to Dale and his family over the years.
