Peacefully, surrounded by loving family, on October 4, 2017, at Vision Nursing Home, Robert James Brown passed away at the age of 76. Loving father of Mary Brown and Douglas Brown (Annie). Survived by the mother of his children, Catherine Tyrie. Beloved companion of Lorraine LeClair. Dear brother of Ron Brown (Judy). Survived by sister-in-law Tressie Brown from Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews. Step-father of Jeffrey LeClair, Mark LeClair (Daria) and Timothy LeClair (Judy) and cherished step-grandfather of many. Predeceased by his parents George and Martha (McLean) and his siblings Kathleen (Pops) Guthrie, William Douglas (known as Sonny), Roy (Lorna) Gerald, Louise, Marvin (Betty) Clifford, and Gordon. Special friend of Hans and Crystal D., Dianne and Doug Gilbert, Wilma and Ben Aarts, and Keith Huggett. Robert loved bowling and playing pool with friends. He also enjoyed finding antiques at the flea market. Robert was skilled at fixing bikes and worked out of his garage. A special thank you to the staff at Vision Nursing Home for their excellent care over these past few months. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. An open house celebrating Robert’s life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Smith Family Centre, 1576 London Line, Sarnia from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation (cheques only at the funeral home please).
