Death Notice

Peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends, Darlene Lord passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the age of 59. Beloved wife of David Lord. Loving mother of Eric (Christine) Lord, and Courtney Lord. Cherished grandmother of Penelope and Marcus. Survived by mother Evelyn (the late Alexander) Lecky. Dear sister of Brian (Theresa) Lecky, Delbert Lecky, Dawn Lecky (Ted Prior), Fred (Sylvie) Lecky and Brenda (Jamie) Deck. Survived by brother-in-law Kevin (Donna) Lord and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by mother and father-in-law Irene and Ray Stuart. Darlene will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 16, 2017 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of visitation prior at Smith Funeral Home. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the charity of choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).

 

Visitation

Family and friends will be received on Monday, October 16, 2017 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Service

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of visitation prior at Smith Funeral Home.

Donations

Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the charity of choice (cheques only at the funeral home please).

    So very sad to hear of Darlene's passing on. I really enjoyed working with her and she was a pleasure to be around. Darlene will be missed by everyone that knew her. Condolences to all her family.

    The universe has gained a new star to shine brightly down on all those who loved and cherished her. She always had good advise for all us apprentices when we started in the trade. She will be forever missed and I will always hold a piece of her in my heart..

    I will always remember those childhood memories as well as the teen age memories of growing up together.
    Darlene was always the smart, strong one.
    I will always remember her smile.

    Vickie and I are so sorry to hear the news of Darlene's passing. She was a great advisor, mentor and most importantly friend. She was always there when needed as a Sister for her union Brothers and Sisters, Local 1592 will miss her.
    Our prayers and condolences go out to her family who I know she loved so much from our many conversations.

    Darlene was the best of us- as a Millwright, mentor, sister , friend and an all around amazing human being- she is quite irreplaceable.
