My sincerest condolences to Matt's family and friends. Writing this is difficult as it had been a while since me and Matt last spoke. I met matt in Sombra during my adolescence. He invited me and my close friend at the time Kevin Toms to hang out at his place as we took turns playing guitar around a fire pit. A small moment that would be a small influence on a big part of my life. Music defines who I am and it defined Matt as well. He had a huge heart and would stick his neck out for his friends no matter the circumstances. He occasionally attended my shows and concerts I put on at the Trinity Lounge in Sarnia when I lived there. We would share conversations about our love for music and our love for the recording arts. It was something I had always considered doing as a living but did not follow through until I was in my late 20s. I remember talking to him about wanting to go to school for audio engineering one night at a show and I was hesitant about the idea because I did not want to leave Sarnia, but at that moment Matt encouraged me. He said to go for it, and although that conversation was only a piece of the puzzle that pushed me to go to school for audio, it was the biggest decision I had ever made in my life and Matt was a part in helping me make that decision. He recorded his friends and bands for free and he inspired me to want to do the same. Matt will be greatly missed and I will always remember him for the amazing person he always was.

Matt became a member of the Harmony family some years ago. He taught lessons to some kids and made long lasting relationships with many who looked up to him, whom he guided, and was just there to listen when they needed. He leaves behind so many great memories and times together with them and myself. May you find your peace Matt. You are forever missed by the hearts you touched.
