A resident of Meadowview Villa, Petrolia, formerly of Sarnia, Alison Pamela Byrne passed away at the Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital, Petrolia, at the age of 85. Loving wife of Philip for 63 years and the mother of Kevin (Valerie), Malcolm (Patricia), and David (Arda). She was the grandmother of Andrew, Michael (Rochelle), and Faith, and the great-grandmother of Linden. Alison was predeceased by her parents (obviously), her sisters, her brother, and grandchildren Stephen and Mary-Elisabeth. Alison was born in Harpenden, England, and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1969. Due to the nature of Philip’s work, she lived in various countries including Belgium, Switzerland, United States, and of course England and Canada. She enjoyed the myriad experiences of her travels. A tremendous cook, she will be remembered for the many gourmet meals she prepared. Her grandchildren loved her “Nana Specials” at breakfast. Her boys devoured her homemade peach pies. Her traditional English trifles were always a big hit. The sherried chicken livers (made only once) not so much! The family would like to thank the vascular floor staff at Victoria Hospital, London, and the staff at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital, Petrolia. A huge thank you to the staff at Meadowview Villa for all of the help they gave Mum over her final years. They would also like to thank her friends who took the time to go and visit her in Petrolia. She always enjoyed these visits. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at Trinity Anglican Church, 1194 Murphy Road, Sarnia, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Inn of the Good Shepherd or the Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).

I'm so sorry Alison has passed away. She was a lovely lady and I remember her fondly during our days at Polysar - so long ago. She was always so nice and welcoming. I loved her smile. I'm glad your children are near. I'm sure she is in heaven and you will see her again. She will be missed.

Dear Uncle Philip, Kevin, Malcolm, David and families. So sorry to hear of the loss of my lovely Auntie. Fond memories of visits to Hitchin and, later on my first visit to Canada with Nan in 1970?; then our wonderful holiday with you all in 1994 celebrating your Mum & Dad's 40th wedding anniversary. How she coped with us all I will never know. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. Lots of love, Vicki & Tony xx
