Peacefully on Friday, December 1, 2017, Gordon Perry, age 88 at Afton Park Nursing Home passed away. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Bernice (nee Taylor) (November 2010). Beloved father of John (Valerie), David (Nancy) and Greg (Darlene) Perry all of Sarnia. Grandfather to Lisa Perry (Jason), Michael Perry (Laura), Ashlynn Adachi (Paul), Megan Traquair (Scott), Taylor Perry and Jade Atkinson. Great-grandfather to Tyler, Jarrett, Rylan, Cody, Sienna, Alex, Emma, Addison, Annaleigh, Jaidyn and Mason. Also survived by sister-in-law Mary Perry and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lee (Scrap) and Myrtle Perry; mother and father-in-law Allan and Gertrude Taylor; sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Jim Arnold; brothers Robert Perry and Cliff Perry; and brothers and sisters-in-law Lorne and Marg Taylor and Bob and Marianne Taylor. A special thank you to the staff of Afton Park for their care and compassion. Gord was a retiree of Imperial Oil and an avid sports fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Gord’s life will be held at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at 12:00 p.m., with family and friends being received one hour prior. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice (cheques only at the funeral home please).

I was saddened to hear of Gord's passing. We knew each other through Camlachie United Church. Over the years, I had many chats with Gord...generally centred around the Blue Jays. He was a kind, generous man and I always enjoyed talking with him. We are sorry for your loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Your dad was an amazing man and I loved him like he was my own dad. 1 East will never be the same without him there. Everyone loved him and he will be missed dearly. As difficult as this is, we have to remember the suffering is over and he is with his wife now. He will always have a special place in my heart.
