It is with deeply saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Malcolm John McDonald, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Mary Ann Jones. Loving father of Brean (Richard) Houtby and Greg (Randi) McDonald. Cherished grandfather of Tyler and Trevor Houtby and Callum McDonald. Dear brother of Norman (Lorena Uriarte) McDonald and Pamela (John Engeland) McDonald. Predeceased by his parents John and Gwendoline McDonald. Malcolm retired from Shell and was a member of the Sarnia Yacht Club and an avid sportsman. He will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he touched. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).

My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. Mal was such a super guy and he touched all those within his reach. We will strive to remember him as we knew him and for the many fine contributions he made to all of us.

Mary Ann and family, we are so sorry for your loss and and Mary Ann you were such a stronghold in Mal’s life. The care you gave him day after day was s sure sign of true love and commitment. The coming days will be tough and we are here for you for whatever you need. Many hugs to you.
