Death Notice

Born May 6, 1943, Dave passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health on Monday, February 12, 2018. Anyone who knew Dave has been touched by his generous heart. His wit and humour set him apart. Dave had a passion for golf, fishing, pool, bowling but nothing came before his family. Proud father of Jim (Sharon) and John (Carol). Best friend of Linda Burnard and her son Dave. Special Papa to Rob (Beck), Lindsay (Chuck), Connor, Curtis, Jackson, Allison, Chase, Jacob, Jake, Ty, and Cal. More than a brother to Chris as well as his siblings Florence, Joan, Patricia, Bill (Barb), Kevin, Kim (Brian). He will be sadly missed by so many friends, family, and very much by the youth hockey family of Eau Claire, WI. Dave is finally reunited with the love of his life, Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Allison Goodale.

Our hero is now smiling down on us from Heaven. A heartfelt thank you to the medical staff at Bluewater Health, especially to Dr. Kim and the ‘angels’ on the Palliative Care Floor. A special mention to Cheryl, Lance, and Danielle for your compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
